ENMAX Corporate
The corporate departments are where most of ENMAX's professional specialists work in a shared services environment. These departments include finance, treasury, human resources, regulatory, supply chain, legal, strategic planning, risk management, information technology, government affairs and administrative services. The corporate areas have opportunity to get involved in high-profile business plans and play a key role in decisions affecting overall company growth. Many employees, through the shared services concept, are dedicated to a specific ENMAX business, although they formally report to a central corporate director. The corporate departments report to two vice presidents. Employee surveys show that a large majority of employees enjoy working in ENMAX's corporate departments because of the interest shown them by their leaders, the opportunity to impact on the company and the vision of sight to corporate strategy. Employees have also said that workload is a concern and, in response to that feedback, efforts are underway to eliminate or reduce the volume of low, value-added work.
Teamwork is a key feature of the success of the corporate departments, as are individual efforts and professionalism. In moving forward as a company, considerable responsibility rests on these departments to develop effective processes, reduce costs and streamline while also responding to the unique needs of the lines of business.
