A note about the 2010 EIT Program:
2009 is proving to be a challenging year for all of us as we navigate the global economic crisis, and 2010 is showing signs of being more of the same.
Here at ENMAX, we are confident in our ability to weather the storm, but we also need to be measured and careful in our spending. As a result, we have decided to forego our annual EIT program for the next cycle (2010).
Please keep an eye on this website for any updates to the status of our EIT Program in the coming months.
ENMAX is proud to offer final-year Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Students a chance to get their foot in the door with a company voted as one of the top 40 best employers in Alberta.
Six lucky students will be given the opportunity to fast track their career through our own in-house Engineer-In-Training Program. Recruitment for the 2010 EIT Program begins in September 2009. We are targeting four Electrical Engineering Students and two Mechanical Engineering Students who will be graduating this winter or next spring.
To qualify for our EIT Program, you must be:
• In your final year of either a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Bachelor of Science Degree Program at a recognized post-secondary institution.
• Career driven and looking to the future for good opportunities and professional growth.
• Willing to relocate to Calgary, Alberta.
• Willing to continue learning under the guidance of some of the best, most experienced people in the industry.
• Eager to take on new challenges and able to start in June 2010.
Graduates are offered the chance to rotate through several areas within ENMAX to help them gain an understanding of the entire company, and help them determine what department they may eventually want to work in full-time.
The EIT Program is a great way to ensure the best fit for both the company and the EIT.
Rotations continue through various divisions for about 10 months, at which time the Electrical EITs can decide whether to continue rotation within the program (up to another 16 months) or apply for a permanent posting within the company.
Mechanical EITs will move into permanent positions on the Generation side of the company after 10 months.
Possible rotations include:
- Control Centre / System Operations

- Environment
