Engineers-in-Training Program

Our Engineers In Training (EIT) Program offers recent electrical engineering graduates the opportunity to apply their academic experience in a practical work environment.

The program is 8 to 24 months long and begins with a one-week orientation session. To start the program, EITs complete work rotations in a choice of several areas:

  • Distribution Planning and Design
  • Network Planning and Design
  • Business Development
  • ENMAX Power Services
  • System Control Centre
  • System and Equipment Engineering
  • Transmission Projects Group
  • ENMAX Envision (fibre optics)

Upon completion, EITs are eligible to apply for a permanent position within the ENMAX group of companies.

The program includes a variety of experiences for graduates to build a solid portfolio of skills and experience.

    IMPORTANT DATES

    September
Applications for the EIT Program are accepted until mid-October. EIT program representatives attend university career fairs across Western Canada. We also host information sessions at each career fair so interested individuals can find out more about the EIT Program and what it's like to work for ENMAX.

    October
After the job posting closes, the EIT management team screens and selects candidates from each university to interview.
Interviews are held in late-October and early November.

    November
Short list of candidates is determined after the first round of interviews. These candidates are invited to visit Calgary for a tour of ENMAX facilities and for a second interview.

    December
Final candidates are selected and offer letters are sent out in early December.

  • EIT program begins the following June.
