Percentage workforce covered in joint mgt-worker committees

ENMAX does not currently have formal health and safety committees with joint management/labour representation. All organizational units with field operations do hold monthly safety meetings. These meetings provide opportunities for all workers to raise safety concerns and issues. These meetings are formal with minutes taken noting action items. A formalized safety hazard reporting program is another means for all workers to raise safety concerns.

The percentage of the workforce represented in formal joint management-worker health and safety committees is zero.

The monthly safety meetings are typically held at a functional level with the size of the meetings ranging from 10 to 70 workers.

Formal health and safety agreements with trade unions

ENMAX has collective agreements in place with two trade unions, CUPE Local 38 and IBEW Local 254. Both of these collective agreements have a variety of health and safety topics covered. These outline the union's involvement in various health and safety programs, working conditions for some safety sensitive work, and some provisions for personal protective clothing and equipment. Other than what is covered in the collective agreements, ENMAX does not have any formal agreements on health and safety topics. Union officials are engaged in company health and safety initiatives.
