Within the City of Calgary, ENMAX Power Corporation has 34 Substations, 284 km of transmission lines, 723 km of distribution lines, and thousands of pole-mounted and pad-mounted transformers.

When maintaining our equipment and generating infrastructure, we strive to minimize any adverse impacts to the land. Through our Environmental Management System, our field operations are assessed according to the risk of disturbing the ground and/or species habitat. Activities identified as higher risk are managed through the development and implementation of operational controls as well as training programs.

Large projects often pose unique considerations for reducing the impact to wildlife and species habitat. During the planning phase for larger projects, environmental considerations are both identified through impact assessments and integrated through appropriate impact reduction measures.

A. Wildlife, Habitat and Biodiversity
B. Release and Reclamation
C. Waste Management and Minimization
