Our Management Approach
Aside from our revenues and sales, ENMAX contributes to the local economy by providing employment to approximately 1,700 employees; by giving back to communities through sponsorship and donations; and providing opportunities for suppliers and contractors through our recent and current construction activities in Calgary, Crossfield, southern Alberta and British Columbia. Ensuring that generation capacity meets customer demand is a priority. We work to keep electricity costs competitive by investing in a diverse range of generation facilities close to our customers.
Strategy and Policies
We have adopted several policies to ensure that ENMAX generates economic benefits in a responsible manner. These include the following policies:
- Disclosure and Confidentiality of Information
- Finance
- ENMAX Principles of Business Ethics
- Code of Conduct Compliance
Our economic development strategy as a vertically integrated company (i.e., generation, transmission, distribution, retail and energy services) is to provide better service to customers, balance the risks of the energy industry, and generate economic benefits throughout the value chain.
Our goals and performance with respect to economic development can be found in the subsections entitled: Our Accounts; Formula-Based Ratemaking and Demand Side Management (Energy Efficieny). More on our financial performance can be found in our 2009 Annual Report.
