1. Where can I find information to help me decide which combination of price, service and features best meets my needs?
The Government of Alberta can provide you with information to help you decide which electricity options are best for your needs. A leaflet called "How To Shop For Electricity" is available on the government's Customer Choice website or by calling the government's toll free number at 310-4455 and asking for Government Services. You can also call ENMAX at (403) 310-2010 (toll-free in Alberta) and we will direct you to this information. To protect consumers, licensing, bonding and codes if conduct apply to retailers.
2. I've been called and asked to send a copy of my electricity bill to another company. What is this for? Should I send it to them? And what kind of information can they get from my bill?
Retail companies may be interested in finding out how much electricity you consume and when. These companies are trying to estimate how much electricity a particular customer, neighborhood or city use over a certain time. You can share this information which anyone you choose. Your bill will show the company your name, address, amount owing, account number and water and electricity consumption patterns.
3. Who should I contact if I have questions or concerns?
